Vice President Harris Global Initiative for Women Economic Empowerment

Vice President Harris journeyed to the continent of Africa in a history making trip to Ghana, Tanzania, and Zambia. Her main goal during the last week of Women’s History Month was to highlight economic advancements Africa is making with respect to women owned businesses and non-profit organizations. Her trip reinforced the United States commitment to economic prosperity and investment in the African continent and its people, particularly their women. As part of her trip, she announced the launch of a new global initiative of over $1 billion dollars in private sector and philanthropic investment to address disparities in access to digital finance and online services.
