Quinta Brunson: Actress and Show Creator

Quinta Brunson is the creator, writer, and star of the new ABC hit comedy Abbott Elementary. This network comedy is about an underfunded public elementary school in Philadelphia with a diverse cast of put upon teachers who are doing the best they can for their students with limited budget, resources and a principal with no interests beyond herself. Quinta named the show after her own sixth grade teacher Ms. Abbott and it has seen its ratings quadruple since premiering this winter. Her professional rise to stardom began with writing and directing her own YouTube comedy videos which gained viral status and launching her into opportunities she has jumped into with both feet. One of her other featured roles was on HBO's hilarious A Black Lady Sketch Show which is a variety show of sketch comedy written and starring black women.
