Asian American and Pacific Islander

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) History Month, ARCC is promoting the amazing resource prepared by Public Broadcasting Station featuring numerous stories and media of important historical events, famous people, and current issues.

One of the featured movies is “The Chinese Exclusion Act” which discusses the 1882 law that specifically targeted people of Chinese race and ethnicity making it illegal for them to come to America and prevented Chinese nationals currently living here from becoming United States citizens.
